The powerful local scene

The Host City Salzburg will fully rely on its powerful local scene. There will be no appearances by pop icons such as Elton John but the local potential on artists will be fully exploited in the course of the social program for the UEFA EURO 2008TM.

The EURO 2008 will open each day in Salzburg with Big Papa, a water fountain shooting 50 meters high, between the Makart and Mülln Bridges.

The opening festivities “Servus Europa - fans will be friends” in the Fan Zone (Sat., June 7, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.) will offer a mix of pop music, folk culture, classical music and video art.

The team of Rubber Republic has developed a funny game in view of UEFA EURO 2008. The JVC Euroball 2008 transfers the UEFA EURO 2008 from the stadiums into different european restaurants and instead of a ball the game is played with coins.
