Croatia beats Germany

Yesterday Croatia won the match against Germany and as result the Croatian team rolls into quarter-finals. For Germany it is a bitter pill. Now they really have to concentrate on the match against Austria. The match on Monday promises to be a really exciting game. Austria needs to win and Germany at least hast to reach a draw…

Austria is still in the running

No match before has been so nerve-jangling for me as the one between Austria and Poland. Anyway now we know what’s the problem, the strikers. Two golden chances but the attackers could not use them… Frustrating when the better team fails to score.

To cap it all Poland stroke the first goal from an offside position and the referees counted it as legal. Thank Goodness, we received a spot kick during the injury time and Vastic draw the level… Austria is still in the running…

Switzerland - Turkey 1:2

Tournament No comments »

After the rain battle in Basel EURO 2008 is over for our Swiss neighbours. They had to leave the park after a 1:2 loss. A bitter result after the Swiss team had taken the lead in the first half. The Turkish stroke the determining goals in the second half and won the match.

Hopefully our team will do better today, otherwise both host countries would have to share the same fate.

Portugal rolls into quarter-finals

Yesterday the Portuguese could triumph above the Czechs with 3:1. Already after 8 minutes Deco could strike the first goal for the Portuguese. Only nine minutes later Sionko could draw level with a perfect header after a corner kick. After Christian Ronaldo stroke the second goal for Portugal, Sionko missed the chance to level again. To crown the match the Portuguese stroke a third goal during the injury time…
