Getting to the stadium

Arrival, Stadium No comments »

Nine days left until UEFA EURO 2008 kick-off and only twelve days until the first game is staged in Salzburg. For that reason we would like to examine on how to get to the stadium in Wals-Siezenheim.

Basically takes effect:

  • Only guests with a valid car park ticket are allowed to drive to the stadium and park there.
  • For fans without a valid car park ticket it is recommended to park their cars at one of the P+R parkings and take the shuttles to the stadium
  • At best you take the bus (number 1) that drives from the station directly to the stadium
  • Or you take the train (S-Bahn S3). From the station “Europark” you can walk to the stadium in about five to ten minutes.

For detailed information please visit the websites of the Host City Salzburg or UEFA.

EURO 2008 smoke-free

Stadium No comments »

In Great Britain the mother country of soccer smoke-free stadiums are already standard. Fans who are smoking during a match even have to pay a penalty and repeater may be sent off.

During UEFA EURO 2008 it is different. Fans may smoke uncontrolled on the tribune, only trainers and tutors have to disclaim. UEFA as host would have had the possibility to prohibit smoking during EURO 2008 but has chosen the more liberal version.

Tip: Smokers should carry some cigarettes with them because tobaccos won’t be sold at the stadiums.
