Not only the Greeks have there own fan location in Salzburg during the UEFA EURO 2008. Also the Russians have found the right place for their Russian House.
As from June 9, 2008 the Russian House will be shelterd by Salzburg Congress. Representatives of public life and fans will have the possibility to meet at the fan lounge and experience the EURO 2008 together in a relaxed atmosphere.
The powerful local scene
The Host City Salzburg will fully rely on its powerful local scene. There will be no appearances by pop icons such as Elton John but the local potential on artists will be fully exploited in the course of the social program for the UEFA EURO 2008TM.
The EURO 2008 will open each day in Salzburg with Big Papa, a water fountain shooting 50 meters high, between the Makart and Mülln Bridges.
The opening festivities “Servus Europa - fans will be friends” in the Fan Zone (Sat., June 7, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.) will offer a mix of pop music, folk culture, classical music and video art.

The german television broadcaster ARD and ZDF alternately telecast all matches of UEFA EURO 2008. Beside live TV coverage of all matches the broadcaster will telecast a live transmission out of two Host Cities fan zones’. The two cities are Bern and Salzburg.
June 10, 2008 the live broadcast will take place in Salzburg. 4.50 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. Gerhard Delling and Günter Netzer will report live from the terrace of “Salzburg Museum” about the vibe in the fan zones (Residence Square, Mozart Square, Chapter Square).
The teams competing against each other in Salzburg were announced on December 2. The results of the draw also allowed Host City coordinator Wolfgang Weiss to make the final arrangements for the fan zone to be set up in Salzburg’s Old City:

Salzburg – Football Festival for Europe
Salzburg will host three of the 31 qualifying matches for the 13th UEFA European Football Championship as an official Host City in 2008. From June 7 – 29, 2008 Salzburg will celebrate a virtual Football Festival together with Europe’s leading teams and thousands of fans from around the world in its architecturally enchanting Old City. The high art of football will be practiced and football history rewritten under the watchful eyes of W. A. Mozart in the Host City of Salzburg – one of the world’s most beautiful cultural venues.
