Getting to the stadium

Arrival, Stadium No comments »

Nine days left until UEFA EURO 2008 kick-off and only twelve days until the first game is staged in Salzburg. For that reason we would like to examine on how to get to the stadium in Wals-Siezenheim.

Basically takes effect:

  • Only guests with a valid car park ticket are allowed to drive to the stadium and park there.
  • For fans without a valid car park ticket it is recommended to park their cars at one of the P+R parkings and take the shuttles to the stadium
  • At best you take the bus (number 1) that drives from the station directly to the stadium
  • Or you take the train (S-Bahn S3). From the station “Europark” you can walk to the stadium in about five to ten minutes.

For detailed information please visit the websites of the Host City Salzburg or UEFA.

No public transport after 01.00 a.m.

The plan to extend the operating time of public transport in Salzburg during UEFA EURO 2008 is no longer an issue. After 01.00 a.m. revellers will have to take a taxi or hoof it.

But don’t mind Salzburg is a small city and therefor a morning walk to your lodging might be an amusement and fine experience…

Automated parking guidance system

In time before UEFA EURO 2008 kick-off the last stage of extension of the automated parking guidance system in Salzburg will be completed. After completion the latest occupancy of 7.000 parking spaces at six garages and car parks will be displayed on 35 displays at 17 locations in the city of Salzburg.

However during EURO 2008 it is recommended leaving the car at a park and ride on the outskirts of the city and going by bus to the centre…
