A few days before UEFA EURO 2008 kick-off June 7th the mountain village Gspon in swiss canton Wallis arranges its own Mountain Village European Championship from May 23rd until May 25th, 2008. Eight teams from eight nations will play against on a sea level of more than 2.000 metres.

The teams come from Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Italy France and the Netherlands and have to consist of licenced players who play in the 7th highest league in the respected country.
